With over 120 years’ experience, Rathbanna specialise in high quality metal manufacturing.
We work in all aspects of architectural metalwork and supply to retail, commercial and private sectors. You can find our work all over the UK, Ireland and Europe in hotels, bars, restaurants, department stores and private residential areas.
Working alongside Architects, Interior designers and private clients we aim to make visions reality. From the design to the end product we deliver superior quality. Our skilled team of crafts men are experienced in traditional and the latest modern metal manufacturing techniques.
OVER THE YEARS
1895
Founded
The company was established in 1895 where James O’Neill, a Tin Smith by trade, along with his sons made pots, pans and canisters.
1950
Expanding
His son Edward took over the business in the 1950s and introduced a wide range of products including metal kitchen canopies, gift art, sculptures and fireplace hoods.
The openness to adapt to modern trends lead the business to expand supply to Ireland, wider UK and parts of Europe. It was quickly noticed that architecture was becoming more popular.

1990
Made to Order
In the 1990s, Edward’s son Paul took over the reigns. With industrial change, the demand for bespoke canopies, fireplace hoods and gift art began to decline. Paul responded by researching other booming markets such as architecture and design. This move paved the way for Rathbanna’s success and the company still thrives on supplying superior metalwork to top architects and interior designers.

Dedicated Team
Rathbanna continues to grow their portfolio of work with high end designers and architects. Paul O’Neill leads a team of highly skilled craftsmen, alongside his two sons, James and Owen. James manages the office including sales and estimating, and Owen is lead foreman to manage production.

We can achieve many finishes on metals including super mirror polished, satin brushed, matt finish, antique patinas, lacquers and paints.
As well as the above finishes we can match to samples specified by architects and interior designers.
